VERTICAL POLE
The vertical post is made of 6 5/8" O.D. Schedule 40 galvanized tubing. The design includes a 48" bury into the ground and a 72" setback from the post to the backboard. To allow for up to 78" extension, the backboard attachment is telescoping. Two 1" round tubular braces support the top corners of the backboard and connect directly to the pole. The pole has been designed so that the rim can be mounted directly through the backboard into the horizontal extension to eliminate backboard stress during play.
RIM
The standard rim is fabricated from fully welded 3/16" backplates and sideplates. The rim is constructed by welding double 5/8" diameter, high-strength steel together at a minimum of six points. Nets are attached through a continuous netlocking system that is made of 3/16"x1" steel with punched slots, allowing the use of either nylon or chain nets. The rim is powder-coated in orange, and a nylon net is included.
