VERTICAL POLE
The vertical post is constructed of 4 ½" O.D. RS40 zinc flow coated steel tubing with a 7 ga. wall thickness. It allows for a 48" bury into the ground and a 48" setback from post to backboard. Two 1" round galvanized tubular braces support the top corners of the backboard and connect directly to the pole. The pole is designed so that the rim mounts directly through the backboard into the horizontal extension to eliminate backboard stress.
RIM
The rim is made to absorb the stress of player contact with a flexible design. A heavy-duty compression wire spring provides spring action, and the entire internal mechanism is enclosed with a steel cover plate. All structural components are built using no less than 3/16" steel.
The institutional-quality rim features an official 5/8" diameter high-strength steel ring supported by a 3/16" brace that supports 60% of the ring. It is punched to mount either a 3"x 4" or 5"x 5" hole pattern and has an orange powder-coated finish.
